Personal History Charles was born on November 21st 2362 in Billings, Montana on Earth. He is the second son to John and Susan Wheeler. Charles grew up on his family's working cattle ranch outside of Billings with his siblings: older brother John and younger brother William and younger sister Alexandra. Since he was a kid, Charles had a passion for helping others. He knew early on that staying at the family ranch was not the lifestyle for him. His parents encouraged him to go off to school and fulfill his dreams. He enrolled at the University of Montana in Missoula and obtained his undergraduate degree in four years. He then attended medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. After obtaining his M.D., he decided to pursue a surgical residency at the Mayo Clinic, but he decided that being a surgeon was not the career path for him. He then returned to Billings and joined a private practice. While in private practice, Charles obtained a fellowship with the American College of Physicians after publishing a research paper. After a few years, Charles decided that he wanted a change in his career. His colleagues recommended that a career in Starfleet Medical would be the most fulfilling. Charles then completed the Starfleet Direct Commissioning Officers Course and received his commission as a Warrant Officer. His first posting was as a General Medicine Medical Officer to Deep Space 7 on the Romulan Neutral Zone. He then requested a transfer to a hospital ship and was assigned to the USS Nightingale.
